This is Floating Mountain on the Hastings Cut Off Trail.. Just East of here wagons were abandon because their live stock ran off in the night because they smelled water at Pilot Mountain. This is extremely muddy and hard going..
This is the Hastings Cut off trail just before going over Donner's Pass going over the Silver Mountains on the Hasting Cut-Off trail. The white Historical Posts mark the trail.. you can still see the wagon tracks, left in the mud..
