TOM CLAH

Tom Clah ( Clark )

Navajo Sand Painter

I learned my sand painting from a former Medicine Man turned Christian (James C Joe) Nationally known traditional Sand Painter/Artist.

My work is traditional and contemporary, and sometimes a mix of the two.

My Art has been on display at many American Art shows including my Alabaster and Wood Carvings, Silver Jewelry and Sand Paintings at Santa Fe Indian Market in New Mexico,  Heard Museum in Phoenix Arizona,  Phoenix Convention Center Arizona, Houston Texas, Anaheim Indian Art Show California, Western Relics Indian Art show in Los Angeles, and many others. My Art has been featured in the Daily Times Newspaper of Farmington New Mexico, and a Documentary Film call “Creation Process” By KNME out of Albuquerque New Mexico.

I owe all my talents to my Creator God.

At a young age I put some of my art money into the tithe offering for the Lords work so I can become a better Artist and do my art with freedom, I prayed for my hand and fingers.

I want to express my cultural traditions of the Navajo way through my art.

In doing my art I am in balance with Nature and Earth.
